West Derby school is a large, all boys (11-18) split site comprehensive, serving the needs of a large and varied community. We are currently based on two sites, 3 miles from the city centre. The two buildings are almost one kilometre apart, key stage 3 at the Quarry wing and key stage 4 at our Bankfield wing. We have a large sixth form, which is based at the Quarry wing.
We are soon to be single sited under the Building Schools for the Future programme. Our new campus will have state of the art facilities giving our boys all they need for a successful future.

"I take great pride writing this introduction to West Derby School.
We are a very popular boys’ school serving the needs of a large, varied community.
We are currently based on two sites approximately three miles from the city centre,
although we expect to be in our new building by 2010.
We welcome the fact that all our boys are individuals with differing backgrounds,
talents, aspirations and needs.
We offer the full range of academic and enrichment opportunities
and are very proud of the boys’ achievements.
All our students are entered for a full range of examinations.
Our last visit from Ofsted highlighted many of our successes
