This year all three years groups have been set a task to research a major global sporting event of their choice. Each of the year group worked with Mr Jones a term at a time. The project they collectively decided to cover were the Olympics, History of football, World cup, Rugby World Cup and Wimbledon.

Within the groups two pupils were elected to be project manager and assistant project manager. Their roles were to oversee the entire project, to make sure deadlines were met, and if people where off sick to delegate tasks. Ownership of the project was passed entirely to the groups and only guidance was provided by Mr Jones.

At the end of the ten week programme (every Tuesday night 2.55- 3.55) the work produced was fantastic! They managed to produce work of the highest order incorporating good use of English and excellent ICT skills.

As always, it has been a pleasure to work with the Key Stage Three Gifted and Talented cohorts. Next year Tim Johnson from the Liverpool Echo will be coming in to teach you how to be Sports journalists for our next project.
