Personal Safety is mostly about common sense, but this document from Merseyside Police gives some excellent practical advice to help a little more.

It covers personal safety and home and when out and about. It gives useful tips about carrying mobile phones and bags about in public. Safety on public transport is also covered, as is safety when driving.

ANTI BULLYING

People bully others because they're weak themselves, but being bullied is still a hard thing for anyone to live with - whatever their age. Thankfully however, there is lots of help and advice available on the internet about this subject.

www.antibully.org.uk is an excellent website that contains stacks of links to useful areas on the wide topic of bullying - a useful place to start looking for help.

DIFFERENT CULTURES

Despite 92% of our city being white and of British origin. Liverpool is home to the oldest chinese community in Europe, and much of our traditions, culture and accent is build on the influence of new cultures arriving in our area.

www.britkid.org is an interesting site that illustrates the different social, racial and religious groups that make up our country as a whole.

DIVORCE

Every year about 140,000 divorces happen in this country (one in three marriages), and having your parents split up can be a very difficult time for anyone at any age.

www.itsnotyourfault.org and www.itsnotokay.org.uk are both cleverly titled websites that will give you some sort of reassurance and advice on this matter.
