The School Library Resource Centre is open every day between 8.05am-4.00pm for students to work and study, with a full time Library Resource Manager on hand to assist boys to access a range of materials covering the curriculum to Advanced Level.

The 6th form has open access to the library for independent study whilst all other key stages utilize the facility at designated times throughout the day.  Every opportunity is given to promote reading and we have a successful kS3 reading scheme which takes place in the library.

In addition it is open between:
8.05-8.40, 11.00-11.15 and 12.15-12.55
every day for library clubs, all students are welcome.

LIBRARY AIMS

The School Library Resource centre provides an essential support to the learning achievements of the students by assisting with projects, individual study and by fostering a reading culture through wider reading schemes to raise literacy levels and encouragement for reading for enjoyment.  In addition we work with students to identify and exploit appropriate information services and offer guidance and instruction for students in investigation work and the use of information technology.

LIBRARY RESOURCES

15 networked computers with Microsoft office and relevant software to support all key stages. Over 8,000 books-fiction, information and reference. Careers library with up to date information including: university prospectuses along with details of open days. Specific magazines and journals are also provided.
