RE-CREATING HISTORY
In summer 2008 local primary school children were invited into our school for a series of innovative ICT days.

The programme of study was designed to prepare them for life in secondary school and to use ICT in different ways.

The tasks involved re-creating the life of a victorian child. The pupils created a presentation about life in West Derby 150 years ago.

They drew cartoon faces of themselves and then animated them to their own voices, to help 're-create' the past.

All of their work was combined to produce a presentation that looked at the differences between life in Victorian times and life today. They also recorded their own voices to describe what evidence they could see in the photographs.

Before and after -
'old' sepia face and 'futuristic' cartoon face.

Animated face - lip synched to voice track.
FUTURE SCHOOLS
In a similar, but unrelated primary project, pupils from our own school and local primary schools created a series of stop-motion animations to show how they feel schools in the future may look like.

Here is an example using parts of our own school.
